F1951 - 6-bit 0.50 dB Glitch-Free™ Digital Step Attenuator

The device enables a precise adjustment of DSA attenuation with pinpoint accuracy. It has very low distortion with an excellent linearity of +65dBm IP3 and has only 1.2dB at 2GHz of insertion loss. The F1951 RF attenuator includes CLK inhibit feature designed to minimize sensitivity to CLK bus noise when the device is not being programmed. When CSb is high (> VIH), the CLK input is disabled and serial data (SDI) will not be clocked into the shift register. In addition, glitch-free technology eliminates attenuation setting overshoot (glitches) from the transmit and or receive paths by reducing transient "glitches" by up to 95 percent during most significant bit (MSB) transitions. This results to a settling time of 400ns that is ideal for agile TDD systems.

The digital step attenuators have a wide range of applications in telecommunications that include base stations (2G, 3G & 4G), repeaters, public safety, point to point infrastructure and WIMAX receivers and transmitters. It delivers power control in distributed antenna systems, gain control for optical repeaters in wireless-infrastructure devices and signal conditioning in broadband equipment.
